January is National Soup Month!

Did you know that January is National Soup Month?
Did you know that January 22 is National Soup Swap Day?
What do you do on National Soup Swap day? Make soup, of course!
You make a big pot of your favorite soup and you call up some friends. That's what you do! I love soup! Who doesn't? If you want to have a Soup Swap Party, you will find instructions on planning it here.

So how do Beaders celebrate National Soup Month? By throwing a Bead Soup Swap Party, of course!

Hurry on over to Lori Anderson's blog and sign in if you want to join in. This will be my third Bead Soup Party and I am looking forward to it. There are over hundred beaders participating, and the number keeps going up... This promises to be even better than the previous two, judging from the number of beaders signing up. You have till the 24th to get your name in to Lori.

Thank you Lori, for organizing this, and handling the monumental task of pairing us up, emailing us, and all the nitty, gritty details that go into making sure all goes well.

Here are pictures of the jewelry I made from beads sent to me by my previous Bead Soup Partners. It really is challenging to work with beads that I did not choose myself, but the results can be so surprising, so gratifying and beautiful too!

February 2010
My partner was MaryMcGraw and she sent me this stunning ceramic pendant and some of the beads you see in my dragonfly necklace.

June 2010

My bead soup partner was Shannon of Missficklemedia. She sent me the spectacular Jasper focal bead and the wonderful Shibiuchi flower clasp.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the party!

It is time to Party again, Bead Soup Party, that is!

Lori Anderson of Pretty Things just announced another Bead Soup Party! This is the second one and she is inviting fellow beaders to join.  The deadline to join is May 7th. If you are interested you better hurry over to her blog and sign in.

The first Bead Soup Party was so much fun, that I have signed up for the second one too. For the first time around I partnered with Mary McGraw of MK's Creative Musings and received a wonderful package of beads that resulted in this pretty necklace.

Well, my Bead Soup Party story has a very happy ending. I donated the necklace to some of my co-workers who were taking part in the Tampa Bay's Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) walk that took place on April 3rd 2010. This was a cause very close to their hearts and they told me they raised an additional $150.00 with my necklace. Thank you Lori and thank you Mary, your gift to me made many people very happy. What a great way to meet people, make new friends, share creative ideas and have a lot of fun in the process.  See you at the party!

It is time to party! Bead Soup Party, that is!!

Hi there partygoers, welcome!

I hope you are having fun.
Most of you have already seen the soup ingredients that I received from Mary McGraw, but here they are again.

I started with some freshwater pearls in the right shade of green.  Added my soup party mix ingredients one by one, stirring well, add some red agate, sip some red wine, let it simmer. More stirring, more simmering, more sipping and some stepping back and some sitting down, and look what I made with it. I love it! I hope you do too! You can click on the pictures to see the details!

Thank you, Mary for such a beautiful and challenging collection of beads. I hope you had as much fun with the beads I sent you as I had with these.
Thank you, Lori for all the hard work in organizing the Bead Soup Party, you did a great job in rallying all of us, pairing us all up, keeping us informed, and encouraging us. I  hope we do it again soon!

Enjoy the party! Enjoy the day! I will be at work most of the day, but will join you all again this evening.
Thank you for dropping in.
I send you all warm wishes from chilly Florida.
Regina
